2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Arrives with Hybrid Options

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback has begun arriving at Canadian dealerships this month, offering customers a range of new features and powertrain options at competitive price points. Starting at $33,416 for the well-equipped Sport trim, the new Civic Hatchback lineup introduces hybrid-electric models to the Canadian market for the first time.

The 2025 Civic Hatchback is available in three trim levels: Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. The Sport trim, powered by a refined 2.0-litre engine, is priced at $33,416. For those seeking hybrid efficiency, the Sport Hybrid starts at $37,205, while the top-tier Sport Touring Hybrid is priced at $38,700.

Honda Canada expects hybrid-electric models to account for approximately 60% of Civic sales, aligning with the company's electrification strategy. The hybrid powertrain, featuring Honda's two-motor system, delivers an impressive 232 lb.-ft of torque, making it the most powerful non-Type R Civic ever offered. Fuel economy ratings for the hybrid models are equally impressive, with 4.8 L/100km in city driving.

Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of Honda Canada, emphasized the Civic's importance to the brand: "The Civic is one of Honda's most storied nameplates and its popularity with Canadians is legendary. With the electrified, built in Canada Civic Sedan Hybrid, and now the first-ever Hatchback Hybrid, the refreshed, powerful and fuel efficient 2025 Civic lineup builds on the success of the 11th-generation model."

All 2025 Civic Hatchback models feature enhanced exterior styling, including a more aggressive front fascia and grille inspired by the Civic Type R. Hybrid trims receive unique aesthetic enhancements such as body-coloured headlamp garnish.

Inside, the Civic offers a refreshed interior design with new materials. The Sport Hybrid trim introduces a grey interior option for select exterior colours. Standard features across all models include front USB-C ports for improved connectivity.

Safety remains a priority for Honda, with all Civic models equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. For 2025, these systems have been enhanced with improved performance in areas such as the Collision Mitigation Braking System with Pedestrian Detection.

The 2025 Civic Hatchback builds upon the success of the 11th-generation Civic, which was honored as the 2022 North American Car of the Year. With its competitive pricing, improved fuel efficiency, and advanced features, the new Civic Hatchback aims to continue Honda's strong presence in Canada's compact car market.
