2026 Passport TrailSport: Honda Engineers Push the Limits in Extreme Off-Road Testing
September 27 2024,
Honda is elevating off-road adventure with its all-new 2026 Passport TrailSport, currently undergoing intensive testing across North America. The SUV, slated to be Honda's most capable and adventure-ready vehicle yet, boasts a powerful DOHC 3.5-litre V6 engine, an enhanced 10-speed automatic transmission, and a class-leading torque vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system as standard equipment.
Honda engineers are putting the next-generation Passport TrailSport through rigorous validation on challenging terrains, from the iconic red rocks of Moab to the sandy dunes of western Michigan and the muddy trails of Appalachia. This extensive testing aims to ensure the vehicle's durability and performance in diverse off-road conditions.
The 2026 Passport TrailSport brings a fresh, bold design that highlights its tough off-road capabilities. The front showcases the "PASSPORT" lettering beneath the grille, with TrailSport-exclusive amber daytime running lights adding a unique flair. Its boxier silhouette, flatter roofline, upright rear, and standout roof rails all contribute to its adventurous look.
Although details remain under wraps, the new Passport TrailSport is anticipated to deliver enhanced off-road performance with improved all-terrain capabilities. Expected features may include all-terrain tires and upgrades similar to the Pilot TrailSport, such as a lift kit, specialized stabilizer bars, and protective skid plates.
Honda has scheduled the official reveal of the 2026 Passport and Passport TrailSport for this fall, with the vehicles expected to arrive in dealerships early next year.
