2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Specs Fully Revealed

Honda Canada has unveiled comprehensive details for the completely reimagined 2026 Passport TrailSport, confirming its position as the most rugged and off-road capable SUV in their lineup. Following the initial announcement, this latest reveal showcases the full spectrum of features that make the Passport TrailSport the ultimate Honda adventure vehicle.

The 2026 Passport will arrive with four distinct TrailSport variants: TrailSport, the first-ever TrailSport Touring, TrailSport Blackout, and TrailSport Touring Blackout. Each model comes standard with V6 power and torque-vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel drive, designed specifically for Canadian adventurers seeking both genuine off-road capability and everyday versatility.

Rugged Design With Purpose

The 2026 Passport TrailSport showcases a complete exterior redesign based on Honda's "Born Wild" concept. The SUV features a brawny, broad-shouldered stance with a bold front grille, aggressive hood scoop, and distinctive LED daytime running lights with amber accents on TrailSport models.

Practical design elements include a matte black finish on the rear roof section that allows you to lean adventure equipment against the vehicle without risking damage. The increased ground clearance, shorter front overhang, and improved approach and departure angles deliver genuine off-road functionality.

Wider tracks (+33mm front, +38mm rear) and flared fenders with 18-inch wheels wrapped in 31-inch tires create a powerful stance that backs up the SUV's trail-ready appearance with actual capability.

Powerful Performance On Any Terrain

Under the hood, the 2026 Passport TrailSport features an enhanced 3.5-litre V6 engine delivering 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This power flows through Passport's first 10-speed automatic transmission, which includes standard paddle shifters for direct control when you want it.

The second generation of Honda's i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system comes standard on all models, featuring a stronger rear drive unit that handles 40% more torque with 30% faster response. The system can send up to 70% of engine torque to the rear axle and direct 100% of that torque to either rear wheel, giving you exceptional traction in challenging conditions.

Seven selectable drive modes—Normal, Sport, Econ, Snow, Sand, Tow, and Trail—let you optimize performance for any situation. The new dedicated Trail mode enhances off-road capability, while Tow mode delivers additional stability when hauling.

True Off-Road Hardware

The TrailSport models deliver with serious off-road equipment, including:

  • Reinforced steel skid plates protecting the oil pan, transmission, and gas tank
  • Exclusive suspension tuning with optimized spring rates, damper valves, and stabilizer bars
  • General Grabber all-terrain tires (275/60R18) co-developed exclusively for the Passport
  • Stout recovery points rated at twice the vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
  • Unique orange front recovery hooks designed to break away in frontal collisions

The TrailSport Touring adds the innovative TrailWatch camera system, using four exterior cameras to provide crucial visibility with tire placement graphics when navigating difficult terrain.

Expanded Interior Space and Technology

Inside, you'll find a more spacious cabin with increased rear legroom (+33mm) and expanded cargo capacity behind the first row (2,356 litres, +156 litres). Standard technology includes a 10.2-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen with Google built-in plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The Body Stabilizing front seats reduce fatigue during long drives, while expanded storage includes two-tier door bins, a large multi-use tray, and a massive console bin that fits a full-size tablet. The cabin features 10 large cupholders, including six that accommodate wide, one-litre water bottles.

TrailSport Touring models enhance the experience with perforated leather seating, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a custom-engineered 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.

Unmatched Accessory Options

Honda engineers have created their most extensive accessory lineup ever for the 2026 Passport, including:

  • Robust rock sliders with stainless-steel plates
  • Variety of 18-inch wheel designs
  • Aluminum front scuff plate
  • Cargo roof platform for overlanding gear
  • MOLLE storage systems
  • Adventure-ready picnic table that stores as a cargo shelf

The 2026 Passport TrailSport will be available in seven eye-catching colours, including two TrailSport-exclusive options: Sunset Orange and Ash Green Metallic.
